TRUE Story of The Exorcist: The Exorcism of Roland Doe / Ronald Hunkeler | Strange Deep Dive | Ep #66

The Exorcist was loosely based on a real exorcism: The exorcism of Roland Doe AKA Ronald Hunkeler in 1949. Join Madame Strangeways for a strange deep dive into the true strange story that inspired William Peter Blatty to write The Exorcist!

Stick around after the narration for the deep dive itself!

First we discuss what an exorcism is and a brief spooky history of them, then we learn all about the paranormal events leading up to the exorcism and the exorcism itself, as well as the differences between the movie and Ronald's exorcism, and finally I share my thoughts on William Peter Blatty and why he changed Ronald into Regan. And also why he decided the story needed a sad, hot priest.
